Challenge
The retailer faced significant losses, ranging from 1-2% of their total revenue, due to compliance issues associated with diverse packaging and complex supply chain operations.
Solution
We partnered with Pooler EPS to standardize packaging across all operations using EPS RTIs and implemented a suite of advanced technological solutions including data capture, serialization, the data platform and visibility across the supply chain.
Implementation
Standardization of Packaging and Serialization
Transitioning to EPS for uniform packaging and adopting a multi-pooling solution for serialization allowed for efficient management of returnable transport items (RTIs). Starting with a virtual label, this approach facilitated better control and reuse of packaging materials.
Advanced Data Platform
We enhanced the retailer’s data platform to include automatic processing and updating of purchase order controls. This integration ensures that all transactions are automatically verified against purchase orders upon receipt, minimizing errors and enhancing compliance.
Dashboarding and Information Retrieval
To provide real-time visibility into operations, we implemented a dashboarding solution that includes purchase order verification and stock insights. This system allows for immediate access to critical data, helping to make informed decisions quickly.
